Manage project budgets in the projects list

If you run several projects, you need to see budget, burn, and margin without opening each one. In Rabbiit, the Projects item in the top menu is that view: every active project in one table, with a progress bar and budget columns.

This is not the same as the Budget tab in Edit project — there you set the limit and budget type. Here you monitor the whole portfolio and drill into a project when you need to act.

💡 Money columns (billable, not invoiced) depend on permission and on the project being billable. If you only see hours, you can still use the list for volume and budget % in hours.

How to open it

  1. In the top menu, click Projects.
  2. The screen opens on Projects overview (#/projects-overview).

Mental shortcut: it is the header Projects link — not the left sidebar on the home page (that list is for opening a project and logging time).

What each column shows

The grid lists one project per row. Exact labels can vary with permissions, but the typical set is:

Column What it is for
Project Project name (link to open the project).
Client Client linked on the project Main tab.
Hours Total logged hours in the slice.
Billable Billable hours or amount when the project is billable.
Hours % Share of hours against the budget (when the budget is in hours).
Budget Configured type and limit — and the progress bar for consumption.
Remaining budget How much is left before the limit (or how far over, if overrun).
Not invoiced What is not marked invoiced yet, when you see billing.
Members / Tasks Team size and task catalog on the project.
Status Active, archived, etc.
Created on When the project was created.

The progress bar in the budget column summarizes burn: you see at a glance which projects are safe, tight, or over. Click the project name for detail, time entry, or budget changes in the modal.

Filters at the top

Above the table you have filters in the same spirit as main reports — for example, narrowing which projects appear. Use them to focus on a client, a status, or a subset before you compare rows.

When to use this screen

Use it in portfolio reviews: which projects blew the budget, which are idle on hours, which client concentrates effort.

Do not use it instead of the dynamic summary report when the question is grouping by person or crossing margin across many dimensions — this list is per project, not a custom pivot.

To change the limit or budget type, open the project and use Edit project or set billable hours and rates.
